I mean this is great, and funny about not acting old. I’m 61, and I have friends a few years older than I am, and they really, really act old. They tell themselves the Old story. “I can’t do that because I’m old” “I hurt because I’m old” “I’m in poor health because I’m old.”
And they are in poor health, in pain, unable to do things because they have talked themselves into it. They eat badly, never exercise (“I have arthritis, so I can’t ___________), do less and less. I, however, gleefully do things like work out, read, write, keep bees, and drive a red car very well indeed. (It’s a stealth hot car, a Honda Civic. I live on Hwy. 101. It’s very windy. snigger.)
And I boogie to big band music, early rock, and whatever else moves. In public. Hee hee hee. Getting old is more fun than being young.
